Australia's largest public transport project - delivering 30km of rapid transit beneath Sydney Harbour.
The Sydney Metro City & Southwest extends the Northwest Metro line from Chatswood through the CBD to Bankstown, including a 15.5km twin-tunnel crossing beneath Sydney Harbour. Construction commenced in 2017 with an estimated cost of $10–11 billion.
ASAC provided specialist systems engineering and requirements management services throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring technical and operational requirements were captured, managed, and traced from stakeholder needs through to system designs and verification evidence.
554 next-generation double-deck carriages redefining intercity rail across New South Wales.
The NSW TrainLink D sets represent a transformational rolling stock procurement - 554 new carriages replacing the entire V set Intercity EMU fleet, with services spanning Sydney to Newcastle, Lithgow, and Kiama. The 10-car double-deck configuration required innovative design solutions to integrate with the existing Sydney Trains network infrastructure.
ASAC supported systems integration and safety assurance activities to ensure the new fleet met all technical, operational, and safety requirements prior to entry into service. The first trains were delivered in December 2019 with a total program value of $2.8 billion.
Replacing legacy signalling with intelligent, automated digital rail control - transforming Sydney's network for the next generation.
Transport for NSW's Digital Systems Program (DSP) represents one of the most ambitious rail modernisation efforts in Australia's history, replacing legacy signalling and train control systems with modern, highly automated digital technology including ETCS Level 2 and Automatic Train Protection (ATP).
ASAC was engaged across both Tranche 1 and Tranche 2 to provide specialist systems engineering, project management, and technical management services - working alongside TfNSW, systems integrators, and delivery partners to manage the complexity of a live, operational network transformation.
Transforming Brisbane's rail network - 10.2km through the heart of the city, 5.4km underground.
Cross River Rail is a landmark infrastructure project delivering a new rail corridor through central Brisbane, with four brand-new underground stations at key inner-city locations. By unlocking core network capacity, CRR enables more frequent services on the Caboolture, Gold Coast, and Cleveland Lines, fundamentally changing how South East Queensland moves.
ASAC is proud to support this nationally significant project through specialist Systems Integration and Test & Commissioning services, ensuring all disciplines and delivery partners are aligned and that every system meets its technical, operational, and safety requirements before entry into service.
Connecting Victoria to the world - the state's first ever direct rail link to Melbourne Airport.
Melbourne Airport Rail will connect Melbourne Airport directly to Victoria's metropolitan and regional train network for the first time, with services every 10 minutes. The project scope includes a new premium airport station, major upgrades at Sunshine, twin elevated tracks through the Albion–Jacana corridor, a new Keilor East station, and upgrades to signalling, power, and road infrastructure.
ASAC is supporting delivery through expert System Safety Assurance, Systems Integration, and Test & Commissioning services - building on our proven track record on Cross River Rail, Sydney Metro, and the Digital Systems Program.
